So today, for shits and giggles, I tried to write a letter using the Office 2007 beta.

I can forgive the "New file" menu item being put on a special Office menu button. Possibly I can even cope with the idea that there might not be an ordinary simple letter template. What is absolutely unforgiveable is *hiding the fricking 'undo' feature so well that a minute or so of random digging couldn't locate.

Watch me run back into the arms of OpenOffice.

Is there anything it does better than Office '97?

I suspect not.

Didn't inline spell-checking come in in 2000? That was worth having.

Life's to short. Like I said, I went back to OpenOffice. It's free and it does everything I want.
