Mmmm. Good. - Her Most Regal Majesty, the Queen of Snark
void where prohibited, except by law
Mmmm. Good.
My headphones arrived today. The conclusion is definitely positive, although they take a bit of getting used to on a purely physical level. I did my standard audio test - Tubular Bells II - a piece of music I know so well I could cue in most of the instruments, and lo and behold - crystal clear sound, firm but not overbalanced bass, and I was hearing loads of little detail that I hadn't been able to pick up on before. For a serious audiophile into portable audio, they're definitely worth the cost. Not sure if I'm a serious enough audiophile to really qualify, but I was treating myself, and I'm very satisfied by the results.

I'm quite happy with my Archos Jukebox FM upgraded to 60GB. I use 256Kbit MP3 encoding, and that seems pretty faithful to the originals,

The sound from my ER-4Ps is marginally better than my HD580s, IMO... both are hard to drive, most portable sources have some trouble with my ER-4Ps, alas, but thankfully my iPod does just fine with them.
