5 players. For a Saturday afternoon game. With a B5 theme. I had to cancel? davywavy's "League of Ornery Gentlemen" also got cancelled due to lack of players. The world will have to wait to be exposed to my Jessie the Yodelling Cowgirl.

Ever feel like your hobby is collapsing in on itself?

Wish I'd known beforehand as it would have saved a lot of stress. I may look at running the game on its own at some point.

Did get to do three enjoyable freeforms - the St. Trinian's head girl (and future Margret Thatcher) in "The Belles of St. Hogwarts" was probably my favourite for shear sillyness, but Epic's "Human Racing" (worth it for the look on bibliogirl's face alone when I informed her that myself and the doctor were going into the toilets so he could stick his finger up my arse*) and Mystery in Mind's "Hotel Strange" were both also great fun, although I wish I'd been a bit more awake for the latter one.

*It's probably important to mention that we declined to act out this particular part of the game.

Oh dear. It sucks you had to cancel, especially after busting a gut to finish.

The Trinians/Hogwarts crossover sounds fantastic though!

I don't think it's the hobby. I think it's Gencon UK. That con has, in my opinion, been steadily deteriorating over the past 3-5 years (hard to say, I haven't even been vaguely tempted to attend the last two).

I can almost certainly help you 'home' your game at a Con where it will be played and loved lots.

We love our players. We do, really. The ways they can come up with to bend things are always so varied....

More likely GenCon UK collapsing in on itself.

How was the general attendence/organisation this year btw?

Small. Very very small.

Organisation had its highs and lows. Horsman claim attendance was up 20% on last year. It didn't look that way, but maybe there were lots of card gamers. We really suffered from not having much ability to advertise, and the last minute venue changes were annoying but possibly unavoidable.

So nothing new, then?
What were the venues actually like?

Better than last year. Decent sized rooms, not too oppressive.

I'd also support the idea that gencon is simply self-destructing in on itself.
back in the 90's in loughborough uni, or even up to 2001-2002, it was passable, but now? I did'nt even have any appeal to think about going.
