Finding it difficult to get started on the packing. Resulting depression is causing overeating. *sigh*

Anyone feel like coming round tomorrow or Sunday to provide moral support and encouragement?

imc and bopeepsheep, are you still up for sharing a truck a week on Saturday? Looks like it might be wise to get another driver put on the rental as well, since it seems as though I'll need to take some stuff to the tip (bookshelves that have certain unwelcome cat-related additions).

I've already got plans this weekend, otherwise I'd love to come and heckle while you pack ;-)

would do if i wasn't already booked up for the weekend (will we be seeing you at tomorrow's party?) - immoral support and encouragement available during the week, if that helps any ? i've never quite got the hang of the moral kind...

Had forgotten that was creeping up so fast! We certainly do need to get rid of a lot of packaging and the old sink etc. so probably yes but I'll have to confirm with him, since he's the driver!

Yep. Bear in mind experience suggests I'll be needing a 7.5 tonner to move all my stuff, which is quite a big lorry. It does mean you get to play with the hydraulic lift though. Naturally I'd expect to cover most of the cost of that.

I don't mind helping, but that's way larger than I was expecting. It's technically legal for me to drive such a beast but I don't think it's such a good idea given that my driving experience amounts to 2.5 years in a Saxo (which I've scraped twice while parking it) and the occasional week in an American car hire from the "compact" range. Is it feasible to get a smaller one and do several trips?

Also, we're not going to get much use out of a large truck. The amount of stuff we have to take to the tip would fit into a small van (will they even let you in if you show up in a 7.5-ton lorry?) and we're in no state to get any of our stuff back out of storage yet.

(I assume March 7th is too late? Since AUT has called a strike it appears I won't be in work that day, which would have the advantage of cheaper rental but the disadvantage of fewer people available to help.)
