It's odd how some albums that just don't grab you at first will improve greatly when you listen to them again years later. Todays previously underrated albums are "Fin de Siecle" by The Divine Comedy (although Here Comes the Flood and in particular Sunrise have always been utterly awesome), and "Mink Car" by They Might Be Giants.

*g* Those are two of my 'absolutely essential' CDs, to the point where I have them loaded on my phone even though I don't really like walking around with music blaring (it's handy for long bus journeys though, with the volume down at a suitable level). Agreed on 'Sunrise' and 'Here Comes the Flood' too. 'Factory Showroom' probably just edges 'Mink Car' out a bit, though, overall.

Hmmm. It's hard to pick a favourite TMBG album. I think the answer depends entirely on my mood. Some days I even love John Henry, which can be very inaccessible.

I think I'd have to say Apollo 18 edges the rest out though.
