On the contrary, there is an almost zen-like state of calm. ;)

I stopped watching Doctor Who a month ago and have maintained a distant and aloof indifference as half my flist have dissected each episode week after week. Angry? I just didn't think it was very good any more.

I've never thought it was particularly good. Which leaves me free to enjoy it without the burden of high expectations.

Torchwood on the other hand seems to fall below even my threshold.

see i was thinking what your post said a little earlier today ( I may even have commented on it on someone else's lj a few minute ago) and I think I share your sentiment here.

I have enjoyed dr who before but never thought it was especially great and I enjoy the episodes I catch of this one.

I feel a lot of peoples judgement's as well seem a little nit picky as well at times.

Oh thank you for saying that, Torchwood was really quite predictable tripe, just didn't want to be the lone voice on this!

Oh you're far from the only one. Why on earth the writers think that Owen could possibly be seen as a 'Jack the lad' rather than as a date raping fuckwit is beyond me and don't get me started on Gwen, the dappy (retcon abusing) bint.

We kept on gathering to watch it, but as much as anything it was to share the pain and get the inevitable rant out of our systems rather than to actually enjoy it.

Although the Who triple parter wasn't as good as it could have been, it was nice to see Capn Jack back on form. I can't imagine what the Torchwood writers are going to do with poor Martha. Presumably we are going to get Martha and Jack *both* angsting over the 'loss' of the Doctor. Still, it's possible that Martha might bitch slap some sense back into Gwen.

I would recommend watching "Blink" if you get the chance though. I think it transcends Dr. Who.
