In Rainbows
To avoid getting a pig in a poke, and work out how much it's actually worth for me, could someone please tell me the format (file type and bitrate) that Radiohead's "In Rainbows" comes in.

Yes, I know I could download it for free then pay later, but I don't wish to skew the stats, because I'm that anal, and someone on my friends list probably knows.

I have a copy of "Hail to the Thief" somewhere. It was uninspiring.

TBH the way this is being sold is of as much interest to me as the material. If it's a good album as well, so much the better.

160 kbps joint stereo mp3, no DRM, supplied in a zipfile of around 50MB. HTH. :-)

Ta thank you.

In that case it's worth very little to me, since it will sound shit on a decent stereo.

Latest word (from RH's agents) is that they are going to release a CD through the normal channels in January (i.e. via one of the big labels, to High St shops) - assuming you're not going to cough up 40 quid for the CD/vinyl combo that's shipping in early December.

That's a fairly safe assumption. 40 quid for an album that won't fit on my CD rack? No thank you.

This is a point which seems to be being skipped over completely in all the discusion I've seen/heard. I expect it's because those of us who care about such things are such a minority that it doesn't matter to the sales 8-(
