Won't someone please think of the altos?
Not sure where this came from, due to a bizarre property of my LJ style that means it never shows the right video unless I go to the post page itself. However it does strike a chord (geddit?) with anyone who's ever sung Alto in a choir. (I believe bases have a similar problem.) Fortunately our choir master seems to be good at picking pieces with an interesting alto line.

Also, of course, altos have to work much harder than Sopranos in general because we tend to be harmonizing.

I wonder why there's so little choral stuff for mezzo-soprano. I can't be the only mezzo-soprano choral singer in the world.

OH that ROCKS. Been an alto all my life, so that really spoke to me! Thanks for posting it.

I was finding (& posting to LJ) versions of this on YouTube yesterday so I'm assuming you got it from my LJ, if that's what the first para refers to.

We're the Ginger Rogers of the choir world, I reckon. "Everything Astaire did, backwards and in heels." (And 'I Feel Pretty' tonight actually got quite close to the 'greatest hits' in this song, as it was very hard to hear if any of the sops were singing in the 'two girls' bit.)

I thought it might have been from you.

Hope the concert went well. Still feeling like crap.
