Weather ?

I am trying not to be too condescending now that I am acclimatised to six months a year of snow on the ground, to easily getting 30 cm in a day every now and then, and to week-long -30 cold snaps being normal sometime in January, but it's not easy.

Yes, weather.

London ground to a halt today because of two inches of snow.

I find this doubly amusing because while Canada is clearly the True North in spirit, Montreal's on about the same boring literal latitude as the north of Italy.

No, London ground to a halt today (well, yesterday now) because of 6 inches of snow. It makes quite a difference.

I regularly used to be driven the 10 miles to school after 6 inches of snow.

To be honest, they may be this bad all over the country these days, but it really does seem as though we pay a lot more attention to snow than we used to.
