Why I am unlikely to ever have a public Google profile
While I'm happy to have my identity associated with my email address, social media on the web lasts forever. There's a reason I take reasonable steps to ensure that this journal isn't easy to associate with my real world identity. Google won't let me take those steps, so no thanks to the social networky goodness.
(I suppose I could do all my social networky goodness via sesquipedality@gmail, which is also me, but Google makes it a total pain in the rear to swap between Google accounts.)
It's disappointing to see Google adopting the Facebook mentality.
